Obituary for Sylvia L. Wentz

Sylvia Lynda Lee Wentz, age 77 of South Wayne, WI passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Monroe Clinic Hospice Home in Monroe, WI. She was born March 12, 1941 in Dodgeville, WI the daughter of Edward and Irene (Fielder) DuVal. Sylvia graduated from Darlington High School in Darlington, WI. She grew up around Darlington, later moving to the Cassville, WI area. Lynda was united in marriage to Edward A. Wentz on July 5, 1985 in Beetown, WI. In 2016, Lynda moved to South Wayne to live with her daughter where she has resided since.

Lynda is survived by her children: Rose (John) Werner of Galena, IL, Adella (Robert Powell) Coulthard of Brodhead, WI, Delvin (Nancy) Coulthard of Albany, WI, Alice (Robert) Bechtolt and John (Brenda) Coulthard both of South Wayne, WI, David (Lisa) Coulthard of North Augusta, SC; her step-children: Nancy (Rusty) Fuls of Florida, Rodney Wentz and Brenda Wentz both of Lancaster, WI, Alvin (Kari) Wentz and Albert (Stacy) Wentz both of Iowa and Kenneth (Renee) Wentz of Platteville, WI; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Wauneta Lancaster of Darlington and Jeanette Sjostrom of Apple Valley, MN; God-Daughter: Rhonda (Tim) Pehl of Gratiot, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 9, 2015; two daughters: Diane Coulthard and Vivian Coulthard; one son: Joseph Coulthard; a step-son: Steven Wentz; a grandson: Travis Coulthard; a great-grandson: Zecheriah Coulthard; her children’s father: Delbert Coulthard; three brothers: LeRoy Puls, Ray Emmer, and Eddy DuVal; and two sisters: Dorothy Rogers and Joyce Ubersox.

Lynda cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her family, making silk flower arrangements for weddings, and playing pool. Lynda was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and always cheered for them on Sundays. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A Celebration of Lynda’s Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Beetown Cemetery in Beetown, WI. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at
