Obituary

Karen Diane Foley, 74, of Darlington, WI, passed away following a brief illness on Friday, April 11, 2025.

Karen was born on May 18, 1950, to John F. and Dorothy (Cullen) Foley. After graduating from Darlington High School in 1968, Karen moved to Illinois for a few years and worked at the GE plant in Genoa, before returning back home to attend Capri College in Dubuque, IA. Shortly after completing her degree, she settled in Verona, WI, where she owned and operated Karen's Beauty Salon for several decades.

Karen enjoyed gardening, riding the local ATV trails, and had a strong love for dogs and her cat, Jack. She spent many hours studying her family genealogy and enjoyed connecting with family and friends. Karen was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and also spent several years organizing community Thanksgiving dinners.

Karen is survived by her sister, Sandy Casales, of Darlington, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her daughter, Dawn Ruplinger, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and three grandchildren, Heather, Remy, and Matthew, who held a very special place in her heart. Karen is preceded in death by her sister, Janice Foley, her brothers, Ronald Foley Sr., and Robert Foley, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and her beloved parents, John & Dorothy Foley.

A Celebration of Karen's Life will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bones & Belly Rubs (11532 State Hwy 23, Darlington, WI 53530) or the Darlington VFW (1400 Keep Street, Darlington, WI, 53530) in Karen's name.
