Obituary for Roger C. Lyne

Roger Lyne, age 56 of rural Shullsburg, WI passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville, WI after courageously battling ALS for a number of years. He was born April 10, 1963 in Hazel Green, WI the son of Howard and Margery (Farrey) Lyne. Roger graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1981. He was united in marriage to Melinda J. Johnston on August 13, 1994 in Shullsburg. Roger has lived in rural Shullsburg for the past 20 years. He worked at Lactalis USA in Belmont, WI for 30 years until his retirement in 2016.

Roger is survived by his wife Melinda at home; his children: Amber Lyne of Benton, WI, Latisha (fiance Orie Hubbard) Lyne of Chattanooga, TN, Alexander (fiancé: Holly Smith) Lyne of Dubuque, IA, and Magen Lyne at home; 3 grandchildren: Adrian, Isabel, and Bentley Lincicum; three brothers: Joseph (Deanna) Lyne of rural Shullburg, Chris (Mary Ellen) Lyne of Scales Mound, IL, and Clayton Lyne of Shullsburg; six sisters: Ruth Keough of Beloit, WI, Becky (Keith) Andrews of Monroe, WI, Laurie (Mark) Fields of Shullsburg, Kelly (Skinny) Lyne of Monticello, WI, Lisa (Kenneth) Cockroft of Shullsburg, and Stacey Lyne of Monroe; two sisters-in-law: Janice Lyne of Shullsburg and Betty Harwick of Darlington; two brothers-in-law: Scott (Jen) Johnston of Darlington and Jeff (Cinch) Johnston of Williams Bay, WI; one sister-in-law: Jenny (Wayne) Snyder of Highland, WI, a father-in-law: Ronald Johnston of Darlington, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: John Lyne and Royce Lyne; a brother-in-law: Larry Keough; and his mother-in-law: Hattie Johnston.

Roger cherished the time he spent with his family creating memories they will all remember forever. He enjoyed farming and gardening and was a true Chicago Bears fan. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 3:30 P.M. until 6:30 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg). Online condolences may be expressed to the family at
