Obituary for Barbara M. Lange

Barbara M. “Barb” Lange, age 84 of rural Darlington, WI passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington. She was born December 19, 1934 in Cuba City, WI the daughter of John and Regina (McGuire) Milner. Barb grew up in Benton, WI and graduated from Benton High School. She was united in marriage to Raymond F. Lange on December 29, 1956 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Benton. Following her marriage, she and Ray moved to Darlington Township where together they farmed for many years. While farming, Barb also worked for Barnard Law Office, Storck’s Farm and Auto both in Darlington and lastly at Land’s End for 22 years, retiring in 2005.

Barb is survived by her children: Virginia “Ginny” (Kirk Gunhus) Burbach, Alan (Marcia) Lange, James (Becky) Lange, and John (Steph) Lange all of Darlington, and Bob Lange of Dodgeville, WI; her grandchildren: Mindy (Ryan) McConnell, Apryll (Garrett) Wang, Holly (Matt) Altenberger, Mitchell Lange, Jenna (Andrew) Torres, Alex (Felicia) Lange, Nicole (Jarod) Krahenbuhl, Lacey (James) Brager, Casey (Lindsay VanMatre) Lange, Courtney (Cody) Bredeson, Coty Lange, Kayla (Scott) Gibbons, and Tyler Lange; her great-grandchildren; Callen and Gage McConnell, Wesley and Clayton Wang, Verity, Isla, and Daxton Altenberger, Layne and Vayda Torres, Teagan Lange, Kora Krahenbuhl, and Carson and Everly Gibbons; one sister: Margaret Griffin of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Raymond Lange on January 9, 2000; three sisters: Jean Hamm, Ruth Averkamp, and Esther Hinger; and two brothers: John Milner and Paul Milner.

Barb was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church a branch of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed playing cards and going out to eat with her friends. In her spare time Barb loved to work in her garden and watch the birds. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the memories they all created together. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington) and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:45 P.M. at the funeral home on Thursday. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
