I came to know Everett and Gail because of my friendship with his sister-in-law and Gail's sister Nancy Ripp Scripko. I had a chance to share stories with Everett at many social occasions in Racine and elsewhere. Everett and I shared a special bond because we were both proud Norwegian-Americans. Everett was a man of peace and was genuinely welcoming and respectful and interested in a whole range of subjects. I perceived a certain open hearted innocence about him as he gave everyone the benefit of the doubt. There was no guile in him. Rest in peace, Everett.
