I worked with Brenda when she worked at the hospital. She was always so much fun, and the instigator of a lot of laughs. My condolences to her family.

Brenda always had that sweetness in her, the kind of sweetness that made others feel comfort by her. Easy to chat with and interesting to listen to. I will miss her as I do her parents, it is an honor to be a part of such a wonderful persons life. Thank you Brenda so much for that and your beautiful family.

The news about Brenda breaks my heart. The strange thing is that I was cast last minute earlier this month as a replacement in a country western musical theater play (which opened last weekend) as the mother of two grown sons. "Mom" doesn’t have a name in the script, so I called her “Brenda” in honor of our classmate. Brenda was a most creative friend in our childhood years, and we spent many happy times together dressing up and staging our goofy antics. We'd been penpals since reconnecting on Facebook in 2009 and shared many book notes and philosophical thoughts. It’s poignant that the show I'm doing was just one day short of getting through opening weekend with more time to focus on personal life when we got the news, and I just missed telling Brenda she’s my character’s namesake. But she's always present in my thoughts.
