Obituary

James “Jim” Larson passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on July 14, 1962, to Gordon and Grace (Nelson) Larson, Jim was raised in Blanchardville, Wisconsin, and graduated from Pecatonica High School.

After graduation, Jim began working in local cheese factories before joining Argyle Industries in Argyle, WI. He later found his true calling at RBS Active Wear, where he dedicated 22 years of hard work and leadership as both a manager and I.T. Specialist.

On February 14, 2012, Jim married the love of his life, Emily Tieman. Their bond was one of deep affection, mutual respect, and shared adventures.

Jim had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He cherished early mornings and quiet evenings in the fields and forests of Lafayette County, calling turkey and coyote, and patiently waiting for a trophy buck. He especially loved sharing these moments with his son Elliot, encouraging friends and family to join in his outdoor pursuits. When not hunting, Jim could often be found 4-wheeling through the countryside with Elliot by his side. He also had a special appreciation for songbirds, particularly the Purple Martin.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Emily Larson of Argyle; two sons, Marty (Allison) Williams of Chetfield, MN and Elliot Larson at home; his father, Gordon Larson; his in-laws, Marty and Joanne Tieman; and his brother-in-law, Tom Coffey of Argyle. He is also survived by his niece and nephew, Kayla Coffey and James (Heather) Coffey and Ellie and Brycen of Argyle; his sisters-in-law’s, Melanie (Brad) Willborn, Dorene Tieman, and Heidi Tieman; and nieces and nephews Avery (Jordan), Nick, Sadie, Bailey (Christopher), Landon, Serenity, Lainee (Wyatt), and great-nephew Stetson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Larson, and his sister, Debra Coffey.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Argyle Lutheran Church (100 East St., Argyle, WI 53504), with Rev. Daniel Bohlman officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the church. Burial will follow at West Wiota Cemetery.

The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family. Online condolences may be shared at www.ericksonfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Jim’s name.

We were saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Our condolences to the entire family. I don't know if you could find a nicer guy, friend or neighbor that would do anything for you without asking any questions. He surely will be missed.

Jimmy had such a positive influence on my childhood. I remember the countless late nights playing basketball at the park, when he would pull up in his spotless Monte Carlo, stop, and say hello. It always felt good to have an older cousin check in on you. Jimmy was always the kindest and friendliest person, and he had a way of making you feel truly seen and welcomed. Those small moments left a big impression on me, and I’ll always carry them with me.
