Sarah Roma Anderson, age 94 of Darlington, WI passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Sienna Crest Assisted Living in Mineral Point, WI. Roma was born on August 23, 1926 in Benton, WI the daughter of Gene and Sadie (Allen) Hillary. Roma was united in marriage to the love of her life, Adolph Anderson on August 15, 1944 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Shullsburg, WI. Roma and Adolph began farming in 1945 on a farm in Darlington Township. In 1952, they moved to Wiota where she was active with Wiota Happy Hour 4-H, Wiota Homemakers, and Wiota Lutheran Church. In 1968, the family moved to Cuba City, WI where they continued farming for the next 18 years. Again, active in Cuba City Merry Mixers 4-H, Cuba City Homemakers, and church. Deciding it was time to retire, they purchased a home in Darlington. She worked at Hardees for several years making the best Sunrise Biscuits. Roma was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, knitting, crocheting, crafting, and golfing. She loved spending time with her family and cherished the memories they created together. Roma is survived by three children: Linda (Gary) Deihs of Elgin, IL, Carl (Karen) Anderson of Monroe, WI, and Pam (Dave) Carey of Belmont, WI; eight grandchildren: Rob Anderson, Eric (Pam) Anderson, Heidi (Brett) Lucey, Rick (Brenda) Hicks, Jim (Jennifer) Hicks, Amy Carey, Jodi (John) Riley, and Abby (Kyle) Moeller; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces. Roma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Adolph; one sister; and an infant brother. A private family funeral service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 State Rd 78, South Wayne) with Rev. Kate Kieckhafer of Grace Lutheran Church in Darlington officiating. Burial will be in West Wiota Cemetery. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Carl and Karen, Your Mom and I worked together when my office in Darlington held their annual awards banquet at the Lutheran church in Darlington for several years. She was so pleasant and nice to work with. Then we met you guys here and it took me a while to realize you were her family. She had a long life. Norm and Cathy Mueller

We are so sorry to hear of Roma's passing. I have so many fun memories of her and my mom(Pauline Douglas) working together at Hardee's in Darlington. She did make some great biscuits!! Our deepest sympathy to all her family.

Such a wonderful lady! I was in Homemakers with her many years ago. But I really got to know her while working at Hardees. When she was leaving Hardees she taught me how to make the biscuits. I would run in to her at times over the years and we would talk like no time had passed. We shared the love of crocheting and talked about different projects. I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Roma will be missed by so many! I first met Roma many years ago. She was my grandma's best friend!! Every time I saw her, she was always so pleasant to talk to. Always asking how I was doing and what I've been up to. Sending all my love and prayers to her family.
