Glenn S. Mummert, age 93 of Forreston, IL formerly of Darlington, WI passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was born August 20, 1927 in Carroll County, IL the son of Glenn and Marie (Kloepping) Mummert. Glenn graduated from Lanark High School in 1945 and later completed the Farm Management Course in 1948. He married the love of his life, Virginia Abraham on October 7, 1968 in Darlington. Glenn farmed in Lanark for 6 years. After moving to Wisconsin, he worked for Ruf's Trucking in Darlington from 1969 until his retirement in 1993. After retiring, Glenn was the delivery man for Whitford Pharmacy for 14 years.Glenn is survived by his two sons: Shelly (Connie) Mummert of Polo, IL, and Todd (Renet) Mummert of Lanark; one daughter: Rhonda (Tim) Schoeny of Lena, IL; three step-children: Barb (Ron) Komprood of Darlington, Connie (Eric) Vogel of Elkhorn, WI, and Ann Homb of Madison, WI; one step-daughter-in-law: Carol Homb of Darlington; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Virginia on December 8, 2010; a daughter: Machelle Mummert; one step-son: Jerry Homb; one sister: Marion Carbaugh; and 3 grandchildren: Steven Mummert, Allison Hass, and Jack Burke. Glenn proudly served in the United States Navy from 1945 until being honorably discharged in 1946. He was a proud member of Bates-O'Brien-Howe-Wiegel-Roelli American Legion Post #214 of Darlington. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren creating memories they will all remember forever. Glenn will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. Glenn was a great father-in-law. Always willing to help and easy to talk to. He lived a good long life and passed away exactly 10 years and 4 days after Virginia. Our deepest sympathy to Shelly, Todd and Rhonda and all of Glenn's extended family. Eric and Connie.

I operated a print shop two doors up from Whitford’s Pharmacy for 10 years. Anytime I saw Glenn, he always offered a smile and a kind hello. One day he even came into our shop to help capture a bat! It was quite an adventure. So sorry for your loss.
