My deepest sympathy to the family. I knew John from the "Amway" days. My kids also went to school with with his kids. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I will always remember the first time I spent the night at John and Jesse’s after Laurie and I became friends. We were in 7th grade and I came over after school on a Friday afternoon for supper. I came in the house and everything smelled so wonderful and we sat down to eat. I was very hungry and ate well, after I finished John started giggling, looked at Jesse and asked her if he should tell me what I had just eaten. She said yeah you might want to and I was immediately terrified!!! He told me it was venison and I was still confused. Laurie leaned over and said it’s deer meat and they all waited for my response. I had never had it before. I was like wow really that was sooo good and I loved it!!!! I guess they thought I’d be sick. I’ll forget the smile on his face when I exclaimed how much I liked it
