Ruby Rygh

Ruby Rygh age 84 of South Wayne, WI, passed away Saturday May 1, 2021 at the Lafayette County Manor. She was born May 6, 1936 in Monroe, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Lena (Anderson) Hansen. Ruby graduated from Argyle High School in 1955. She was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Rygh, Jr. on December 3, 1955 at East Wiota Lutheran Church. Ruby farmed with her husband in Wiota Township until retiring into Wiota in 1980.Ruby is survived by Neil Swiggum who was like a son to Ted and Ruby; one sister-in law: Mary Lou Hansen of Argyle; five Nieces and Nephews: Valerie Hansen of Madison, WI, Greg and Jennifer Hansen both of Fitchburg, WI, and Nick and Julie Vande Hei both Wauwatosa, WI; and five great nieces and nephews: Jacob and Ella Hansen, and Tillie, Mary and Ray Vande Hei. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Ted in 1997; one sister: Eleanor Hansen; and one brother: Arleigh Hansen.Ruby was a member Wiota Lutheran Church and its Women of ELCA. She was also a member of Wiota Fireman's Auxiliary. Ruby was a wonderful musician. She sang for hundreds of funerals over the years with her husband, Ted and her friend, Clare Pehl. Ruby also enjoyed playing and singing at Lafayette Manor with the Misfits and for the annual Christmas party at Amcore Bank. She also sang with Rev. Vicki Shepherd as they visited the Nursing Home. Ruby also enjoyed bowling at Countryside Lanes in Hollandale and coffee and breakfast in Gratiot at the former Nixon House and at Fast Stop gas station.A memorial service for Ruby will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 State Rd 78, South Wayne, WI 53587) with Rev. Victoria Shepherd officiating. A visitation will be held Saturday May 22, 2021 9:00am-10:45am at the church. Burial will be held at East Wiota Cemetery following the memorial service.
