James Huston

James L. Huston, age 84 of Spring Green, WI formerly of Darlington, WI passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green. He was born August 5, 1936 in Truro, IA, the son of Harold "Pete" and Hazel (Lathrum) Huston. Jim graduated in 1954 from Biggers High School in Biggers, AR, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Arkansas State University and a Masters Degree in Biology in 1958 from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to MarSue Feezor on December 22, 1957 in Jonesboro, AR. Following his marriage, Jim and MarSue moved to Corning, AR, where he taught science. In 1969, they moved to Darlington, where he taught 7th Grade Science until his retirement in 1996. Following his retirement Jim and MarSue moved to Jonesboro, AR, where they resided until 2009, when they returned to Darlington.Jim is survived by four children: James (Lonita) Huston of Kalispell MT, Sherri (Mike) Yager of Hollandale, WI, Kelly (Eric) Thomas of Cobb, WI, and Kyra (Tom) Bedward of Rogers, AR; his grandchildren: Chris (Desiree) Huston, Jeff Huston and Aaron Huston all of Kalispell, MT, LeighAnn Huston of Spokane, WA, Heather (Brandon) Larson of Darlington, Chadd (Whitney) Yager of Mineral Point, WI, Shane (Val) Thomas of Fitchburg, WI, Zachary (Melissa)Thomas of Spring Green, WI, Andrea (Brad) Waddell of Rogers, AR, and Thomas (Shana) Bedward of Greenville, NC; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Carolyn (Stanley) Hicks of St. Louis, MO, and Barbara (Ronald) Goering of Winterset, IA, Special Niece: Brenna Bjorland of Des Moines, IA along with many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife MarSue in 2018.Jim was a member of Darlington United Methodist Church, its church council, choir, and men's group. He was a past member of Darlington Free and Accepted Masons and Jaycees. Jim had a love for sports and was a long time coach for high school girl's basketball and Volleyball and Junior High basketball, flag football and track. He also spent a lot of his free-time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and was proud to be a Boy Scout leader for the Blackhawk Council he was also a member of Bloody Lake Rendezvous club in Woodford, WI. Jim cherished the time he spent with his family - especially his grandchildren and the memories they created together. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church (15691 County Rd. K, Darlington) with Rev. Nick J. McElrath officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the church and also from 10:00 - 10:45 on Friday at First Baptist Church.
