Beverly Mulcahy

Beverly C. "Bevy" Mulcahy, age 89 of Darlington, WI passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born August 26, 1932 the daughter of Carl and Blanche (Robertson) Jacobson. Bevy lived in Darlington her entire life where she graduated from Darlington High School in 1950. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Paulson on February 28, 1953 at Yellowstone Parsonage in rural Argyle, WI and later to Michael R. Mulcahy on June 27, 1981 at the Iowa County Courthouse in Dodgeville, WI. Bevy enjoyed working at various places in Darlington over the years. She worked for the Telephone Co., Spot Tavern and Lands' End. She then owned and operated Bev's Lunch Wagon for a number of years and lastly worked for Ford Appliance before retiring in her mid- eighties.Bevy is survived by her children: Donna Chambers and Robert "Beaver" (Cathy) Paulson both of Darlington, Patti (Dick) Rielly of Oregon, WI, Jodi (Bill) Ruf and Stacey (Tom) Smith both of Darlington, and Wendy "Fred" (Kevin) Leahy of rural Shullsburg, WI; her step-children: Richard (Diane) Mulcahy of Monroe, WI, Diane (Pete) Conway of La Crosse, WI, Patricia Mulcahy of Janesville, WI, and John (Tammy) Mulcahy of Darlington, Robert (Joy) Burns of Janesville, WI; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: George Mulcahy; and a sister-in-law: Janice McMannes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mike; a granddaughter: Jordyn Shea Paulson; a brother: Carl Jr. "Jake" Jacobson; a sister: Marietta McMannes; step-father: Tim Shea; a step-son: Donald Mulcahy; a son-in-law: David Chambers; and sisters-in-law: Sister Carmen Mulcahy and Sister Maureen Mulcahy. Bevy was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its CCW, the Shamrock Club, and Darlington American Legion Auxiliary. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and playing pool. On Mondays Bevy could always be found playing cards with her friends. Her family, especially her grandchildren, meant the world to her. She cherished the time she spent with each one of them and always made sure they knew how proud she was of them. Bevy had a kind soul and was always willing to help anyone in need. She had a wonderful sense of humor and the ability to make any situation better. She will always be remembered as a fun-loving person.A Time of Family Remembrance will be held at 11:00 A.M. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Rev. Luke Syse officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 at the church.
