Michael Heim

Michael J. "Mike" Heim, age 67 of rural South Wayne, WI formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born March 9, 1954 in Cuba City, WI the son of John "Bruno" and Dorothy (Schunk) Heim. Mike grew up in Shullsburg where he graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1972. Mike dedicated his working years to Kelly Springfield/Titan Tire in Freeport, IL where he worked until his retirement. Mike is survived by his mother: Dorothy Heim of Shullsburg; his children: Duane (Tracy) Heim and Dennis Heim both of Shullsburg, and Dan Heim of Scales Mound, IL; his close friend and mother to his children: Donna Wedige of Shullsburg; many grandchildren; one brother: Mark Heim of Shullsburg; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: John "Bruno" Heim; one daughter: Theresa Gleason; and two brothers: Bruce Heim and Patrick Heim. Mike was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Shullsburg. He was an avid sports fan, being a very big Green Bay Packers Fan - Mike always enjoying the Sundays where his boys would come over and watch football with him. In his free time, Mike liked to hunt all different animals: deer, elk, moose, antelope, and bear. He cherished the time he spent with his family - especially the time he spent hunting with his sons. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church (344 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg) with Fr. Luke Syse of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family.
