Obituary
Timothy A. "Chiz" Haffele, age 64 of Gratiot, WI passed away in South Wayne on Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Tim was born September 19, 1957 in Freeport, IL the middle son of Eldon and Jeannine (Kuhleman) Haffele. Tim graduated from Black Hawk High School in 1975, proudly being involved in the FFA. After graduating high school, Tim attended Fennimore Vo-Tech School.Tim started his career at Micro-Switch where he worked for 40 years until retiring in 2019. Tim enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing, nature walks, and morel mushroom hunting. He enjoyed feeding the birds and watching wildlife, as well as taking long slow drives down the backroads of Southern Wisconsin. Tim will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Jeannine, brother Mike Haffele, and maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his father Eldon Haffele, Gratiot, WI, brothers Dan (Barb) Haffele, Warren, IL, Ken (Sue) Haffele, Monroe, WI, and Greg Haffele, Gratiot, WI, and Diane Belk (special friend of Mike Haffele). Also surviving are nephews Brian (Jen) Haffele, Pickerington, OH, BJ (Juila) Haffele, Carroll, OH, Ryan (Amanda) Haffele, Wisconsin Rapids, WI, nieces Cammie Haffele (Mark Curran) Monroe, WI, and Bethany Haffele, Columbus, OH, in addition to 8 great-nieces and nephews.Tim will be remembered for his wit and his sense of humor. A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (5695 Main St., Gratiot). A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church Cemetery with Rev. Peter Lee residing. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. I am so very sorry for your loss! Tim had a big compassionate heart and was loved by everyone. We enjoyed many years of nature rides and prime rib dinners at Reds. It was almost time for a trip to Gays Mills for apples. The time spent with Tim quietly watching the birds or sitting by the lake made him happy and will be cherished memories for me. He loved his family and the Lord. I know he’s in a better place but it sure is difficult now. I was honored to have him in my life and call him friend. I regret I won’t be back for the service but know that here in northern MN I will be by a lake in the great outdoors that he loved so much, honoring him and keeping his memory in my heart. Here’s a couple pictures of him embracing the great outdoors! RIP my friend. You will be missed.

In case you didn't see my post earlier I so enjoyed meeting him in the grocery stores we always had to talk over what we're buying and what we're gonna make for dinner he was such a great guy. Mary Zimmerman
