I was visiting with my brother Dennis and Connie and we drove up to Argyle to see Mac and Liz. Connie and Dennis had to go out, so Liz invited me to stay with her. Mac had a gang of guys’ playing cards and it seemed that they didn’t want Liz to play. I couldn’t figure out if they thought she wasn’t a good enough player or if they knew how good she was. A seat opened up and the game was on. Liz told me to come and sit by her so I wouldn’t be on my own. Well, she mopped the floor with those guys and when the game was finished, she had won all their money. She said that I brought her luck, but she was such a skillful player, I don’t think she needed much luck. Jean Schmidt, Waterbury, CT
