Becky Burris

Rebecca A. "Becky" Burris, age 68 of Darlington, WI passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Meriter Hospital in Madison, WI with her family by her side. She was born March 9, 1953, at her home in Gratiot, WI the daughter of Robert and Arlene (Robertson) Raisbeck. Becky grew up in Gratiot, WI where she met the love of her life, Dan Burris in grade school. They were united in marriage on September 23, 1972, in Genoa, IL and were married for 49 wonderful years. The two of them later moved to Darlington where they raised their family and have resided since. Becky is survived by her husband Dan at home; her children: Tina Stone and Tausha Burris both of Darlington and DJ (Marcela) Burris of Dodgeville, WI; her grandchildren that she absolutely adored: Mason, Bryce, and Curtis Stone, Trae Hagen, and Lucas Burris; and many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Becky spent most of her working years running a daycare and caring for children in the Darlington area. She loved kids and made a positive impact on all of them throughout the years. She was a great baker and cook - best known for her cinnamon rolls, homemade noodles and holiday platters that she would deliver around town. She also had a talent for canning, always making sure she had plenty of salsa, jelly, and tomatoes. In her free time Becky enjoyed ranger rides, gambling and tending to her waterfall garden. There was always 50's and 60's music on in the background when Becky was taking care of her day care kids. Often you could find the whole house twisting to the music. Becky's pride and joy was her family. She was so proud of each of her grandchildren and always made sure they knew it. She was their number 1 fan, always attending their sporting and other extra-curricular events throughout the years. She had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone and always knew how to put a smile on your face. A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 3:00 P.M. until 6:45 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington). A private family funeral service will be held following the visitation with Rev. Nick J. McElrath of First Baptist Church in Darlington officiating.
