Pastor Robert Gill

Pastor Robert (Bob) Gill, age 73 of Benton, WI formerly of Levittown, PA passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at his home in Benton. He was born November 20, 1948 in Wilkes-Barre, PA the son of Robert and Margaret (Beckwith) Gill. He graduated from Neshaminy High School in 1966 and from Asbury University in 1970. He married Susan Cake on March 11, 1972 at the Primitive Methodist Church in Levittown, PA. Bob spent his younger years in Levittown, PA, where he collected baseball cards, played baseball, and knew the batting averages of most MLB players. After college he spent a few years working in the business field, but soon he answered God's call and went into pastoral ministry. Bob is survived by his wife Susan (Cake) Gill; two children: Kimberlee (Chris) Klar of Mineral Point, WI, and Jeff (fiancé: Selena Class) Gill of Salem, OH; seven grandchildren: Kaleb (Jaime) Klar, Hannah, Jaylynn, Silas, and Aaron Klar, Zoe and Isabelle Gill; two brothers: Allen Gill and David (Elijah) Gill; one sister: Cheryl (Kevin) Botbyl. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother in infancy. Bob was a pastor for 27 years with the Primitive Methodist Denomination. He loved the Lord and studying the Word of God. He loved spending time with his wife of almost 50 years and playing cards, more specifically Chicago Rummy, with his kids and grandkids but never let them win. Though he was a man of few words his family knows that underneath his gruff exterior, and dry sense of humor, laid a big heart. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Pleasant View Primitive Methodist Church (12987 Pleasant View Road, Belmont, WI 53510). Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 from 10:30 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. at the church.
