Kay Krahenbuhl

Kay M. Krahenbuhl, age 85 of Monroe, WI formerly of Argyle, WI passed away Monday, December 13, 2021, at Azura Memory Care in Monroe. She was born May 5, 1936, in Monticello, WI the daughter of Amos and Katherine (Gmur) Zimmerman. Kay grew up in Monticello until she met the love of her life, John Krahenbuhl. The two were married on November 7, 1956, in Monticello. Following their marriage, she farmed with her husband and raised her family. Kay worked at Advance Transformer, Argyle Meat Processing, Argyle Industries, and lastly as a bookkeeper at Phillipson's Garage until her retirement.Kay is survived by her children: Sherry (Jeffrey) Penniston of Argyle, Bryon (Pam) Krahenbuhl of rural Blanchardville, WI, Gary (Carrie) Krahenbuhl of New Glarus, WI, Amy (Paul) Wenger of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Mary (Chad) Vinger of Barneveld, WI; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her special friend: Milford Paulson of Argyle; her sisters: Valerie Torkelson and Gloria Thoman both of Monroe, Ilene Schneider of Lena, IL, and Grace (Dennis) Feller of Ohio; a sister-in-law: Margaret Ruppert of rural Darlington, WI, and a brother-in-law: Ben (Karen) Krahenbuhl of Platteville, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband John; one son: Gregory Krahenbuhl; and three brothers: Ralph Zimmerman, Dwight Zimmerman, and Gordon Zimmerman.Kay was a member of Argyle America Legion Auxiliary and a past member of Argyle Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing word search games, crossword puzzles, gambling, playing cards, happy hour, bowling, and in her younger years, dancing, especially polka. She cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren creating memories they will all remember forever.A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Cornerstone Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Sliper officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Argyle. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
