Ruth Williams

Ruth A. Williams, age 65 of Darlington, WI passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Southwest Health Center in Platteville, WI. She was born December 13, 1956, in Darlington the daughter of Ray and Winifred (Mill) Schwartz. Ruth grew up in Darlington where she graduated from Darlington High School in 1975 and later went on to receive her cosmetology license from Madison Beauty School in 1976. That same year, Ruth married the love of her life, David A. Williams at First Baptist Church in Darlington. In 1986 she started working at Merkle-Korff Industries as a machinist until its transition to S and K Plastics where she had worked until her passing.Ruth is survived by her children: Lindsey (Jeff) Crist of Darlington, Amanda (Ryan) Rielly of Dodgeville, WI, Elizabeth (Patrick) McGowan of Darlington, and David Williams of Darlington; 10 grandchildren: Reagan, Maddie, Eli, and Isaac Crist, Lydia and Mara Rielly, and Lilee, Loudon, Rylan, and Tagen McGowan; one brother: Thomas (Karen) Schwartz of Darlington; two sisters: Rebecca Stephens and Rita (Mark) Hermanson both of Darlington; 2 brothers-in-law: Robert (Sheila) Williams of Mount Horeb, WI and Steve Williams of Monroe, WI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David in 2013; her parents, Ray and Winifred Schwartz; her parents-in-law, Robert and Lillian Williams; and one brother-in-law, Ron Stephens. Ruth cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She made sure they all knew how proud she was of them and how much she loved them. She never missed a school event that they participated in. In her free time Ruth liked to spend time with her friends making memories they will all remember forever. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church (550 Main St., Darlington) with Rev. InSun Lee officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
