Obituary

Lindsay R. Nyffenegger, age 41 of Darlington, WI passed away peacefully at her home in Darlington, WI surrounded by her loving family after a very courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 7, 1980 at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County in Darlington the daughter of Terri (Whalen) and Charles Baxter. Lindsay grew up in Darlington where she graduated from Darlington High School in 1998. She attended the University of Wisconsin - Platteville where she received her bachelor's degree in business in 2002. Following her graduation, Lindsay began working for Camacho Funeral home in Darlington as the HR Specialist. Throughout her time spent there she developed a strong relationship with Diego Camacho and has kept his guidance and support close to her heart and mind. She was currently employed and supported by Wisconsin Whey Protein in Darlington. In 2008, Lindsay met the love of her life, Ed Savage. Ed would often swing by Red Robin where Lindsay worked just to say hello. Lindsay moved to Arizona with a friend. On January 2, 2012, she gave birth to her daughter Emmalyn and on August 28, 2014 she had her second child, Tommy. Her children were the most important part of her life and she always made sure they knew that. In 2017, Lindsay and her children moved back to Darlington where she enlisted them in school and have resided since. Lindsay is survived by her husband: Ed Savage of Darlington; her children: Emmalyn and Tommy at home; her mother: Terri (Charles) Baxter of Darlington; her brothers: T.J. (Mandi) Nyffenegger of Darlington who was her little brother and best friend, Dylan Nyffenegger, Blake Nyffenegger, and Trent Nyffenegger; and her sissy: Morgan (Bobby Mosley) Baxter of Darlington; her nieces and nephews: Landon, Dea, Remie, Gannin, Amelia, and Iyla; her maternal grandmother: Marilyn Whalen; her brother-in-law: Nathan Savage; her grandparents-in-law: Verle and Bobby Thalmann; many special aunts, uncles, friends, and her very special "thirsty Thursday girls." She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Fritz (Judy) Nyffenegger and Joe (Dorothy) Baxter; her maternal grandfather: Thomas Whalen; her mother-in-law: Cheryl Thalmann; and a very special aunt: Vi Brechler. Lindsay was a social butterfly - cherishing every moment she could with her family and friends. She could always be seen drinking anything with an umbrella - a lot of the time with her special friends at Salathe's Saloon in Darlington. Lindsay will be remembered for a lot of things, but her determination and continuous positive attitude are two of the things she made sure she never lost. Life was not always easy, but Lindsay always made the best of it, always making people smile and laugh even on her hardest days. Emmalyn and Tommy were her entire life. She spent every possible moment with them making sure they knew exactly how much she loved them and how proud she was of them. Her family and her friends will miss her terribly, but her memory will live on in them forever. A public visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with a rosary being prayed at 3:00 P.M.
