Betty loved getting the Deluxe breakfast at Dotties Diner in Dubuque. She was crazy about maple syrup, I would tease her about having to grab the other ones off the other tables before we sat down. She had a really good sense of humor, we laughed a lot. And I mean a lot. The waitresses knew us, by our orders… or maybe because we’d pick someone who looked like they could use a break, and we’d buy their breakfast, and tell the waitress to tell them, “your Angel got your breakfast for you today”. Heaven has indeed gotten one of their earthly bound Angels back. I look forward to pancakes with Betty again one day. I miss your laughing face.
