Robert Appell

Robert D. Appell age 78 of Blue Mounds, WI formerly of Shullsburg, WI passed away on September 22, 2022 surrounded by family at Agrace Hospice Center in Fitchburg, WI. Bob was born August 23, 1944 in Monroe, WI to Virgil and Ellen (Dorneden) Appell. After graduating from Shullsburg High School Bob earned his living farming, working at the feed mill and Kelly Springfield Tire Company. Bob and Sue Okeson (Gritmacker) were married on March 23, 1991. Bob is survived by his wife Sue Appell; his children Tammy Duhr and Timothy (Wendy) Appell; his stepchildren Karen Okeson and Ralph (Jan) Okeson; his grandchildren Michael (Brandy) Duhr, Ashley Duhr, Jada (James Morrissey) Hicks, Remington Appell, Jarod Okeson and Autumn Okeson; and two great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings Marilyn (Bob) Sagmoen and Bruce Appell; and his former wife Carol Korn. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-laws and brothers-in-law. Better known as Bob, Dad, Pops and Grandpa, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Bob was a quiet man (until he talked your ear off!) who always had a diet Pepsi in his hand. Bob loved his family, never happier than when he was with his grandchildren, as he was so proud to be a Grandpa. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Ellen; his in-laws, Walter and Dorothy Gritmacker; and sister-in-law, Vi Appell. Funeral services for Bob will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgment St., Shullsburg WI, 53586) in Shullsburg, WI with Rev. Kelli Fisher officiating followed by a light luncheon. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgment St., Shullsburg WI, 53586). Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Perry Lutheran Church Cemetery in Daleyville, WI. Online condolences can be expressed at ericksonfuneralhome.com.
