Lois Gensler

Lois J. Gensler, age 90 of rural Shullsburg, WI passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at St. Dominic Villa in rural Hazel Green, WI. She was born September 17, 1932, in Freeport, IL the daughter of Melvin and Clara (Zink) Schultz. Lois grew up in Warren, IL on the family farm and graduated from Warren High School. Following high school, she married Ted Gensler. Together they had two children that she decided to stay home and raise for the first part of their lives and later went to work at Atwood Industries and Swiss Colony for 20 years until retiring in 1994. Lois is survived by her children: Sue Ann (Steven) Luke of Warren and Dennis Gensler of Shullsburg; her best friend and partner for the past 46 years: Fred Rolli of rural Shullsburg; her grandchildren: Tim Luke, Sarah (Phillip) Mullican, and Marc (Maggie) Luke; six great grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Ted Gensler in March of 1973. Lois loved to spend time outdoors doing things such as fishing and camping at her favorite place, Lake Joy in rural Belmont, WI. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends throughout the years. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren creating memories they will all remember forever. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 12:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (235 N. Judgement St., Shullsburg) with Rev. Nick McElrath of the First Baptist Church in Darlington is officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Shullsburg. A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg.
