Evelyn Evans

Evelyn M. "Evie" Evans, age 59 of Darlington, WI passed away at her home on Monday, January 2, 2023. She was born September 9, 1963, the daughter of Eldon and Sandy (Douglas) Evans. Evie grew up in Darlington where she attended school and graduated from Darlington High School in 1981. She began working at Lafayette Manor in Darlington when she was 16 and dedicated 40 years of working there until retiring. Presently, Evie spent her days working at My Turn Pub in Belmont and every Friday night working at Pizza Pantry in Downtown Darlington where she enjoyed the company of other employees and customers. Evie is survived by her parents Eldon and Sandy Evans of Darlington; two sisters: Tammy (Steve) Hardyman of Mineral Point, WI and Jennie (Tom Larson) Evans of Darlington; one niece: Brittany (Jason) Steffes of Mineral Point; two nephews: Cole Hardyman of Monroe, WI and Wade (Rachel) Larson of Belmont; WI; her great-nieces and nephews: Jameson, Hayden, Brinley, and Briella Steffes of Mineral Point, and Ruth and Walker Larson of Belmont; and one aunt: Donna Evans of Darlington. She was preceded in death by the love of her life: Rich Kieler; grandparents: Ruth Douglas and Evelyn and Mike Evans; step-mother: Evelyn Schaible; one aunt: Linda (Charlie) Miess; and one uncle: George Evans. Evie's favorite time of year was always Christmas when she would bake wonderful cookies and different breads to share with her family and friends. She loved to have the little ones help decorate them. She cherished the time she spent with her family - especially her nieces and nephews supporting them in their school and other extra-curricular events throughout the years making sure they knew how proud she was of them. Evie loved to organize special events in the family - from weddings to birthdays and everything in between, she always wanted to make sure everything was accounted for and that the family was happy. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church (1302 Keep St., Darlington) with Rev. Kate Kieckhafer officiating. A visitation will be held Friday, January 6, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington) and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Grace Lutheran Church.
