Michael Garwell

Michael B. "Mike" Garwell, age 58 of Gratiot, WI passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved, trucking, on Monday, January 9, 2023 in Milwaukee, WI. He was born November 19, 1964 the son of Ralph and Judy (Surrell) Garwell. Mike grew up in Monroe, WI where he attended Monroe High School. He was united in marriage to Peggy LaBorde on June 28, 1986 in Monroe. After their marriage, they moved to Waupaca, WI where he worked as an auto-technician until he shifted gears and started trucking. In 2013, Mike and Peggy moved to Gratiot where they have resided since. Mike is survived by his wife Peggy at home; his children: Dustin Garwell of Brodhead, WI and Curtis (Melanie) Garwell of South Wayne, WI; his grandchildren that he absolutely adored: Chevelle, Carter, and Sawyer; and one sister: Pam (Del) Tysdal of Waupaca. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mike cherished his family more then anything else in the world and made sure his children and grandchildren knew how proud of them he was and how much he loved them any chance he got. When he wasn't working, Mike enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, grilling, camping, and hunting. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St., Darlington).
