Mary Pat Kilkelly, age 94 of Darlington, WI passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Crest Ridge Assisted Living in Dodgeville, WI. She was born June 23, 1928 in Darlington the daughter of Roy and Philomena (Lacke) Miller. Mary Pat attended Red Rock School, St. Rose Catholic School, Sinsinawa School, Clarke University, and University of Wisconsin - Platteville. She was united in marriage to William Kilkelly in 1954 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. Mary Pat taught many children for 45 years, 35 of which were spent in Darlington, also teaching in Cuba City, WI, Chicago, IL and Tacoma, WA. She had a great influence on the many students she taught. Mary Pat is survived by her children: Karen (Steve) Kaune of Wichita, KS, Karla Powers of Dubuque, IA, Koni (Bob) Arnold of Anchorage, AK, Mike (Carol) Kilkelly of Belleville, WI, and Steven (Jana) Kilkelly of Dodgeville, WI; eleven grandchildren: Danielle Reicks, Tiffany Kengari, Christopher Powers, Johnathan Powers, Andrew Arnold, Elle Martin, Ethan Kilkelly, Morgan Askey, Casey Rissell, Seth Kilkelly, and Lacey Kilkelly; twelve great-grandchildren; and one sister: Helen Miller-Spielman of Dubuque. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William; one brother: Bill Miller; one brother-in-law: Charles Spielman; one sister-in-law: JoAnne Miller; and one son-in-law: Mike Powers. Mary Pat was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington where she was a member of its Catholic Daughters, CCW, taught Sunday School, and took part in its book club. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, and reading and watching the news. Mary Pat cherished her family and the memories they created together. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 at at 12:00 P.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Fr. Luke Syse officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A Time of Family Remembrance will begin at 11:30 A.M. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Holy Rosary Catholic School (206 E. Harriet St., Darlington WI 53530) in Mary Pat's name. The family would like to invite friends and family to the Darlington Country Club (17098 Country Club Rd, Darlington, WI 53530) for a luncheon following the burial.

I adored Mary Pat’s spunk, sense of humor and hearty laughter. Many was the time that she welcomed me to sleep over at her home when I would come back to visit Darlington but no longer had family in the area. It was such a gracious gift to be welcomed in like a long lost daughter. In later years, no trip back to Wisconsin was complete without a side visit to see her at Crestview. Hers was a life well lived, and I know she will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but what a legacy! I’m so very thankful for having known and shared in her abundant love.❤️

Condolences to all the family in the loss of you mother, grandmother and sister. I always enjoyed visiting with Mary Pat at the Burns-DeRocher family reunions in Shullsburg. She was so nice and had a group of cousins to her house before Covid to visit, reminisce and look at old pictures. And then, in typical Mary Pat fashion, we were all served a delicious catered lunch by her good friend, Linda. She was a good soul.

I will always remember the glittery and sparkly shoes she wore when substitute-teaching us! I graduated in 2005 and she taught off and on even back then. She was a hip lady. I always enjoyed having her teach. Thoughts out to her family.
