Carol Homb

Carol A. Homb, age 84 of Darlington, WI, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, surrounded by her family at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. Carol was born on October 13, 1938, in Darlington, the daughter of Glenn and Viola (Moore) Nethery. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Jerry Howe on December 23, 1956. Four daughters were born to this union. Carol later married Jerry Homb, on January 11, 1975. Jerry preceded her in death on August 4, 1997. What Carol enjoyed the most was spending time with her four daughters and their families. She loved going out to eat, playing bingo, and cherished the new friends she made at Sienna Crest in Dodgeville, WI, and most recently at the Lafayette Manor. Carol was a waitress for ten years at the Towne House Restaurant for her brother, Jerry Nethery. She then went to work as a Clerk at Nodolf Lumber in Darlington for many years. Carol worked as a poll worker for the City of Darlington, volunteered her time to serving meals on wheels, and was a member of Darlington United Methodist Church. Carol will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. Carol is survived by her four daughters: Kim Raisbeck of Warren, IL, Candi (Dick) Schreck of Scales Mound, IL, Carmen (Joe) Corley, and Carla (Jim) Jacobson both of Darlington; her grandchildren: Aaron (Kim) Raisbeck, Joshua (Leanna) Corley, Jerod (Rachael) Corley, Andrew (Kelsey) Jacobson, and Meagan (Alec) Jacobson; and her great-grandchildren: Owen and Carson Raisbeck, Lainey Corley, and Collins and Kenley Corley. She is further survived by her brother: Marvin (Alice) Nethery of Florida; sisters-in-law: Joyce Nethery of Monroe, WI, Barbara (Ron) Komprood of Darlington, Connie (Eric) Vogel of Elkhorn, WI, and Ann Homb of Madison, WI; a special niece: Marilyn Carpenter, who was more like a sister and best friend; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Homb; her parents; two sisters: Gladys (Clayton) Olson and Glenda (Charles Jr.) Galle; and her brother: Jerry Nethery. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church with Rev. InSun Lee officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
