Rita Flesher

Rita N. Flesher age 66 of Darlington, WI passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer at the Monroe Hospice Home in Monroe, WI. She was born December 25, 1956, the only daughter of Charlie and Maxine (Mosley) Westerman. Growing up in Darlington with four brothers she formed sister like bonds within their close knit neighborhood; the Barth's and the Lashock's became like family and sisters she never had. Rita graduated from Darlington High School in the class of 1975. After high school she attended college at MATC in Madison, WI. Once she returned home, she married Ron Flesher on October 16, 1982 at the Darlington United Methodist Church. She worked at the Lafayette County Nurses Office and Lafayette County Manor for a number of years until their children were born and then she took on the role as a homemaker, chauffeur, referee and the very best mom. Later on, she and Ron took over owning their own business, Flesher Fabricating & Machine in Darlington, WI where she did all the bookwork, along with making friends with anyone who came through the door of their shop. Rita is survived by: Her husband Ron at home in Darlington; Children: Laura (Heath) Smith of Darlington, Emily (Ryan) Weier of Dodgeville, WI and Cedric (Meranda) Flesher of Deforest, WI. Her 7 grandchildren which she absolutely adored: Hadley, Colby, Grady and Oakly Smith, Rhett and Eisley Weier and Easton Flesher. Brothers: Rich (Judy) Westerman, Bob (Trisha) Westerman, Rod (Trudy) Westerman and Ronnie (Lisa) Westerman. Sister-in-laws: Lana (Phil) Bryson, Lisa (Jack) Sauer, Barb (Scott) Siegenthaler and one brother-in-law: Jack (Joni) Flesher Preceded in death by: Her parents, uncle: Robert Mosley, aunt: Ruth Kilcoyne, cousin: Marcia Kilcoyne-Barth; and her parents-in-law: Donald and Ramona Flesher Rita was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a life long Green Bay Packer fan. She always loved attending every sporting event or school programs for her kids and later grandchildren making sure they always knew how proud she was of them. There was never a time where she wasn't baking or making a sit-down dinner every night for most of her life. Her happy place was in the kitchen. There was nothing that made her happier than seeing her grandkids and buying them something every time she went anywhere. Until the very end she enjoyed telling and hearing stories about their high school years and beyond with her close-knit group of friends. Her battle was long but she surpassed a lot of statistics throughout. Which we attribute to her faith and love for her entire family. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet Street) in Darlington, WI. With Fr. Luke Syse officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 10:30 until time of services at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
