Kathy Gouge

"At last, I am free from pain" is what Kathy Jo Gouge must be saying after she met her Savior on July 11, 2023. Kathy was born on April 19, 1962 in Monroe, Wisconsin, to Robert and Joanne (Larson) Gouge. She attended schools in Argyle and Monroe, Wisconsin. After moving to El Paso, Texas, Kathy graduated from Floral Design school and worked at a nursery and craft store in El Paso. In 1992 Kathy and son, Justin, moved to Argyle where she has resided since. Kathy loved her Lord, family, friends, dogs, horses, nature and her home, which she opened to anyone who needed a place to stay and where many cook-outs were shared and holidays observed, especially Christmas. All her dogs and horses were special, but none like her current German Shepherd, Larrie May, her protector and constant companion. Kathy was a member of Argyle-Apple Grove Church and showed her faith in many ways, from leading friends to faith, to her own faith which gave her strength to let go of her pain. She loved every season, thunderstorms, full moons and all kinds of plants, evident in her home. Kathy leaves her mother, Joanne (Larson) Gouge, Argyle; sister, Laura Ferguson, Argyle; son, Justin (Amanda) Lowery, Monroe; devoted friend, Jon Thompson, Argyle; nieces, Monica Ferguson, Argyle and Lisa Duarte, El Paso, and their children, Tionna Rodriguez, Tony Ferguson, Ethan Ferguson, Amarie, Sean and Ian Duarte; uncles, David (Sue) Larson and Dale Gouge; aunts, Faye (Ross) Hughes, Carole Price and many beloved cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Gouge; grandparents, Louis and Edna Larson and Robert and Thelma Gouge; aunts, Elaine Larson, Dorothy McNett, Ruth Mueller, Louise Edwards; uncles, Cpl. Raymond Larson, Lonnie, Kenneth and Steve Gouge. Private family services will be held later. The family thanks all of Kathy's loyal friends who helped her through tough times and supported her recently, Pastor Dan Bohlman and SSM Monroe Hospice. Special thanks to Jon Thompson for the years of friendship and support and for "adopting" Larrie May, and to the Inclusa group, Halie Helfvogt, Community Resouce Coordinator, nurses and the compassionate, loving helpers, who made it possible for Kathy to stay in her home.
