Doreene S. Crapp, age 62 of Darlington, WI passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Lafayette Manor in Darlington. She was born July 22, 1961, in Freeport, IL the daughter of Glen and Velma (Haws) Klenke. Doreene grew up in Apple River, IL and attended Warren High School where she graduated in 1979. She moved to Darlington and began raising her family. She was united in marriage to Brad Crapp on October 10, 2007, at their home in Darlington where they have resided since. Doreene is survived by her husband Brad at home; her son: Jason (Jonne-l) Hendrickson of Durham, NC; her step-son: Mike Crapp of Dodgeville, WI, a step-daughter: Melanie (Dan) Beard of Riley, KS; her grandson: Gabriel Hendrickson; and five step-grandchildren: Shyla Crapp, Christina, Sophie, Kat, and Dacoda Beard; one sister: Debbie (Gary) Block of Warren, IL; one niece: Brittny (Russ) Redfearn and one brother-in-law: Terry (Margie) Crapp of Clinton, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Kevin Klenke; one nephew: Nick Block and two sisters-in-law: Deb Steiner and Dixie Loken. Doreene was a proud member of the Darlington Bluebird Society and the Women's Pool League. She loved watching sports and always cheered on the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, and Wisconsin Badgers. She took every opportunity she could to socialize with her friends and family, creating memories they will all cherish forever. Her family meant the world to her, especially her grandchildren. She made sure they knew how proud she was of them every chance she got. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Darlington United Methodist Church (550 Main St., Darlington) with Rev. InSun Lee officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. A visitation will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com. For those who prefer, a memorial fund has been established in Doreene's name. In memory of Doreene, please wear your sports attire.

I first met Doreene many years ago when I accompanied my college roommate and her sister, Deb, home for a visit. I recall that she was openly friendly and gave me a warm reception. When I moved to Darlington several years after, I established a friendship with Doreene and enjoyed many good times. She was fun and always easy to get along with. A bright spirit has been snuffed out well before her time. I will miss her, but am thankful for the wonderful memories she has provided me.

Doreen and her mother were dedicated bluebirders. They both monitored bluebird nest boxes and participated in many of the activities in the organizations. Doreen took over the nest boxes after her mother passed away. Doreen was a friendly, likable, generous person, and her dedication to saving bluebirds was admirable and very helpful. My sincere sympathy goes to her family. Sue Cashman
