JoAnne Nysted

JoAnne M. Nysted, age 89 of Argyle, WI passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Lafayette Manor in Darlington, WI. She was born July 23, 1934, in Argyle the daughter of Russell "Hoot" and Alice (Anderson) Penniston, Sr. JoAnne grew up in Argyle where she has lived her entire life. She graduated from Argyle High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Donald E. Nysted on June 23, 1953, at Argyle Lutheran Church in Argyle. JoAnne worked at The Gamble Store for several years and later for Ray Steiner Tax Service until her retirement. JoAnne is survived by her children: Carla (Wayne) Berget, Gayle (Kirk) Wenger, DeAnn Rossing, Tammy (Richard) Dammen, and Tom Nysted all of Argyle; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald; one son: Wayne Nysted in 2014; and four brothers: Russell Jr. "Hootie", Charles "Carlie", Roger "Mimi", and Bruce "Izzy" Penniston. JoAnne was a member of Argyle Lutheran Church and its Women of the ELCA for many years. Her family meant the world to her, and she made sure she was always there cheering them on at their ballgames and supporting them in every activity she could. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
