Fabian Meyers

Fabian V. Meyers, age 94 of Mineral Point, WI formerly of rural Darlington, WI passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Mineral Point Health Services in Mineral Point. She was born July 12, 1929 in Darlington, WI. She graduated from Darlington High School. After high school, she married the love of her life, Henry R. Meyers on May 25, 1947. Fabian worked several different jobs while raising her children throughout the years. She was an integral part of the family business working side by side with Hank at Meyers Service Station. She was proud to be director of the Darlington Daycare for years and also worked at Ben Franklin in Darlington for several years. Fabian is survived by her children: Faith (Bruce) Krause of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Duane (Mary) Meyers of Madrid, IA, Gilbert (Georgina) Meyers of Darlington, Ramona (David) Orton of Livingston, WI, Gerald Kathleen) Meyers of Black Earth, WI, and Rodney (Tracy) Meyers of Wisconsin Dells, WI; one daughter-in-law: Darlene Meyers of Darlington; one brother-in-law: Fred Fink of Darlington; and many grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry; two sons: Gene Meyers in 2016 and John Meyers in infancy; one granddaughter: Becky Krause in 2018; her sisters: Fran Fink, Alberta Milestone, Justine Hicks, and Mary Anderson; two brothers: Raymond Peterson and Basil in infancy; and three brothers-in-law: Robert Milestone, Charles Anderson, and Jerry Hicks. Fabian was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington. In her free time she liked to oil paint, cook, and was known for her famous oyster stew. She also liked to take trips to the casino once in awhile. Her family meant the world to her, and she took every opportunity she got to make sure they knew how proud she was of them. Fabian and Hank liked to go dancing at Turner Hall in Monroe, WI and took trips to the State Fair. A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet St., Darlington) with Fr. Chris Gernetzke officiating. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
