Thomas Grimme

Thomas Justice Grimme, 64, passed away August 6, 2024 in Gainesville, Florida. He was born on December 2, 1959, in Darlington, Wisconsin, to Donald and Lorraine Grimme. Thomas attended Darlington High School, where he excelled at basketball, was prom king, and made many life-long friends. After Thomas' family moved to Florida, he graduated from Hawthorne High School. Thomas was a passionate sports fan, who followed both men's and women's sports. Although Thomas was born in Darlington, he was a true-blue Florida Gators fan. Thomas loved to travel and was grateful to have made a recent visit back to Wisconsin to visit family and friends. Thomas possessed a kind personality and an even bigger heart as was evidenced by his last occupation of driving medically ill patients to their appointments, which he enjoyed immensely. He is survived by his brother, Donald Grimme, Jr., and his wife Mary, sisters Julie Grimme, Lynn Rodgers, and Nancy Grimme Schilling, and her husband Jeff, nephews and niece, Michael Rodgers, Sarah Albury, and her husband Robert, and Donald Grimme III, (Digit). He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Delores (Dee), who was the love of his life and partner on many adventures traveling together to visit the Cherokee reservation and cross country to visit friends and relatives. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington (508 Main Street) from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
