Juanita Rear

Juanita Joyce (Johnson) Rear, age 97 of Argyle, WI passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was born on November 17, 1926, in Wiota, WI, the daughter of William K. and Inga (Berget) Johnson. Juanita attended the one room elementary school in Wiota, where she grew up and graduated from Argyle High School in 1944. She married her high school sweetheart, the love of her life, Bernard Rear on October 14, 1945 - at the West Wiota Church. Juanita farmed with her husband Bernie for their entire life until retirement. In 1975, they moved into their home on the farmland where they still reside. She loved to celebrate holidays and special events with her family and friends. We'll never forget Juanita's blue eyes, beautiful smile, and sense of humor. Juanita was well known for her unbelievable memory. You could ask her anything about family history, birthdays, who lived where, and her keen sense of direction could get you anywhere along the countryside. Juanita was a wonderful artist and shared her talents with family and friends. She truly enjoyed China painting and ceramics. She made so many memories with the great group of ladies. They spent hours together painting and getting into mischief. She also loved her Mollie B Polka, RFD TV, football, basketball, baseball, her flowers, and all the family horse events. Juanita is survived by husband, Bernie of Argyle, her five children: Bruce (Maryellyne) of Argyle, Steve (Lynn) of Argyle, Kathy Hackl (Greg) of Florissant, MO, Holly Adams (Gerry) of Brookfield, WI and Gary (Heidi) of Darlington; 22 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren; sister-in-law Helen Johnson, and many nieces and nephews and close friends. Juanita was the last survivor of her siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, William K. and Inga Johnson, parent in-laws, Burnett and Edna (Hendrickson) Rear, Grandchild, Chadd Hackl, brothers Amos, Herbert, Ralph, and Keith; Sisters - Frances Johnson, Lillian Burmeister, Winona McGrath, Lenore Anderson, Elva Morgan, Donna Wahl. Brother in-laws James Johnson, Cecil Burmeister, Leo McGrath, Harry Anderson, Howard Morgan, Mike Wahl; Calvin Erickson, Maurice Rear, John Wagner. Sister in-laws Carrie Johnson, Grace Wagner, Marian Rear, and Virginia Erickson. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Argyle Lutheran Church in Argyle, WI. with Pastor Dan Bohlman officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle is serving the family.
