Mary Tollakson

Mary E. Tollakson, age 80, of rural South Wayne, WI, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at SSM-Health - Monroe in Monroe, WI. She was born February 24, 1944 in Darlington, WI, the daughter of Edmund and Ethel (Coulthard) Keough. Mary grew up in the Darlington area and graduated from Darlington High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to H. Eugene Tollakson on May 15, 1965, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Darlington, WI. Together they bought a farm in 1970 in South Wayne and have lived there since. Mary is survived by her children: Olen Tollakson, Randall Tollakson, and Scot Tollakson, all of South Wayne; grandchildren; two brothers: Jim (Janice) Keough of South Carolina and Paul (Kathy) Keough of Arkansas; three sisters: JoAnn (Werner) Gerber of Browntown, WI, Kathleen Buss of Dodgeville, WI, and Donna (Alan) Loeffelholz of Wautoma, WI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Gene in 2016; two sons: Brad in 2008 and Darrell in 1969; one brother: Larry Keough in 2014; and a brother-in-law: Ernie Buss in 2017. Mary liked to dance, tend to her flowers outside, and crochet many different items for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially at Christmas time where she made her famous Christmas cookies. Her boys meant the world to her, and she always made sure they knew how proud she was of them. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (801 Milwaukee St., Argyle) with Rev. Joseph Bellamkonda officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Gratiot, WI. A visitation will be held Friday, January 24, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the funeral home.
