David Long

David M. "Dave" Long, age 59 of Darlington, WI, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at UW-Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born November 19, 1964, in Darlington the son of John and Lonna (Martin) Long. Dave made Darlington his home his entire life and most recently worked at Glennie's Bar in Darlington. Dave is survived by his siblings: Danny (Vicky) Long of Platteville, WI, Mark Long of Darlington, Matthew (Nicole Brunskill) Long of Platteville, and Patty Nyikos of Little River, SC; his nieces and nephews: Anthony (Amber) Long, Amanda (Gus Aguilar) Nyikos, and Marcus Niedert; one great-nephew on the way; and one aunt: Shirley Long. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law: Robert Nyikos. Dave loved to spend time with his friends shooting pool and watching and cheering on all Wisconsin Sports - the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Milwaukee Brewers. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held at a later date. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. There will be a celebration of Dave's life on Sunday June 9th at Salathe's Saloon any time after 1:00 pm on Main Street in Darlington. There will also be a graveside service at the Holy Rosary Cemetery on Monday June 10th at 11:00 am.
