Peter Parkinson

Peter "Pete" E. Parkinson, age 87 of Fayette, WI passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at his home. He was born February 24, 1937, in Darlington, WI. He was the son of Milford and Mayme Parkinson. Peter grew up in Darlington and graduated from Darlington High School. After high school he began farming in the Fayette area and married the love of his life Mildred "Millie" Garvey on February 27, 1960, at the Darlington United Methodist Church. Pete and Millie retired from farming in 1996. Peter is survived by; his children: Peter Jay Parkinson of Darlington, Cathy Parkinson of Darlington and Steve Parkinson of Sun Prairie, WI; his grandchildren: Kyle Peterson, Kurt (Dani) Peterson, Peter Peterson and Dana Peterson, his great grandchildren: Ryder and Summer Peterson and Elizabeth "Birdie" Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Millie and a sister and brother-in-law: Nancy and Joe Kern. Peter was a member of the Fayette Methodist Church, Fayette Sportsmen and the Fayette Sno Goers. He was always willing to lend a hand to help at any of their events, fundraisers or workdays until the very end. He never missed any of his beloved Fayette events. He was a proud Redbird, Brewer, Packer and Badger Fan. He never missed a Redbird football, baseball, basketball, or volleyball game. Peter was an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler. He went on yearly fishing and snowmobiling trips up north to Barnes, WI with friends and family. He played softball for years with the Fayette ball team. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with family & friends creating memories that will last a lifetime. A visitation will be held at the Fayette Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 9:00-11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with Rev. InSun Lee officiating. A burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Darlington. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
