I am sorry to hear about Virgil A. Wyttenbach death. Our condolences to the family, especially Rudy and Linda (Wyttenbach) Gebhardt, as I am Rudy’s brother and I have known the family for some time. I knew Virgil even before Rudy married Linda, as I grew up in the area and Virgil would visit my Dad at various times, during my growing up years. I always enjoyed our visits with Virgil and Peggy when we visited, especially seeing their extensive garden, as I too do a garden here in Quincy, IL. Having traveled a lot over the years, living in many different places, we would visit when we could. Virgil will be missed.

We are so very sorry to learn of Virgil’s passing and we send our sympathy to his family. I remember his quiet yet strong presence, sense of humor, and generosity. He always has time to show us “city kids” the barn with all the various animals, the gardens, birds, and support for my horse obsession, with visits to Cisco and Buckskin up the hill. Particularly memorable: Vigil riding the Black, looking like a rodeo star, racing down the hill, showing how it’s done! Virgil building bluebird houses, sharing pictures from hunting, always a cup of coffee or something stronger (!) to try, excellent food, music playing on the radio… Peg and Virgil’s place was always the hub of activity, a place where a “city kid” could explore, learn, and always remember. With love and sympathy, Chris and Sierra
