Dennis Stietz

Dennis F. "Scrappy" "Howie" Stietz, age 63 of rural Gratiot, WI passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024 at his home in rural Gratiot. He was born June 5, 1960 in Monroe, WI the son of Edward and Carol (Roethlisberger) Stietz. Dennis lived in Gratiot his entire life and graduated from Black Hawk High School in South Wayne. He dedicated most of his working career to being a Municipality Builder at Monroe Truck in Monroe, WI. Dennis was united in marriage to Gina Berget on May 27, 2018 at the Lafayette County Court House in Darlington, WI. Dennis is survived by his wife Gina at home; a step-daughter: Tina Andrews of Monroe; four grandchildren: David (Stephanie Lewis), Samantha (Joel Marquardt), Madie, and Holly; two great-grandchildren: Paislee and Kenzleigh; his siblings: Wayne (Sherry) and Mark Stietz, Dale Stietz, LuAnn (Dean) Monson, David (Julie) Stietz, Marilyn (Gene) Reardon, Mike Stietz, and Elaine (Jason) Vogel; a sister-in-law: Kara Stietz; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son: Jordan Berget; one brother: Sam Stietz; a niece: Tia Stietz; his beloved dog: Bear; and his love drop Maggie. Dennis was a dedicated member of the Gratiot Fire Department and the Gratiot Sportsman's Club. He proudly supplied all the chickens for the VFW and Sportsman's Club "Chicken Chase" and pigs for the "Grease Pig Chase." During his free time, Dennis enjoyed being outside hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, and attending flea markets and thrasharies. He always looked forward to his yearly vacations with Gina traveling around the United States and various countries around the world. Dennis never knew a stranger and always enjoyed meeting new people and making them laugh. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
