Zane Riley

Zane Riley, age 69, of rural Darlington, WI passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 7, 1954, in Darlington, WI the son of Lawrence and Marcia (Terrill) Riley. Zane lived in the Darlington area his entire life and graduated from Darlington High School. Following high school, he worked on the family farm for many years and later worked for Blaser Pest Control until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Colleen K. Mahoney on January 17, 2011, on the farm in rural Darlington. They lived on the farm for several years until recently moving to Warren, IL. Zane is survived by his wife Colleen at home; his children: Ryan (Jenny) Riley of rural Mineral Point, WI, Angie (Nathan) Barnard of Dodgeville, WI, and Mikayla (Jacob Pollock) Riley of Hazel Green, WI; and his grandchildren: Tarrin, Taitin, and Trigg Riley, and Raylynn and Gaby Barnard. He was prededed in death by his parents: Lawrence Riley and Marcia Eilts; his step-father: Arnie Eilts; and one brother: Richard Riley. Zane was a family man at heart, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, spoiling them every opportunity he could. He always made sure his grandkids knew how proud he was of them and took every chance he got to support them at their sporting events and other extracurricular activities. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, tractor pulling, archery, watching football, wrestling, and going for rides with Colleen. Zane enjoyed shooting pool for The Spot pool team for 25 plus years. He was a passionate Green Bay Packer Fan, who over time built a large and unique collection of Packer memorabilia. Zane was quiet by nature but had the biggest heart and was always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone out. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. A visitation will be held Monday, February 26, 2024, from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Erickson Funeral Home (508 Main St. Darlington).
