Gerald Johnson

Gerald G. "Jerry" Johnson, age 71 of Stoughton, WI formerly of Wiota, WI, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, at Sylvan Crossing in Fitchburg, WI. He was born December 27, 1952 in Darlington, WI the son of Gordon and Betty (Denure) Johnson. Jerry grew up in Wiota and graduated from Black Hawk High School in South Wayne, WI. After attending UW-Platteville, Jerry began working at Wiota Mill, For Neil Swiggum, Berget Farms, later moved to Stoughton where he lived and worked at Walgreens as a warehouse worker for over 20 years. Jerry is survived by his brother: Jim (Kathy) Johnson; an aunt: Dorothy Binns; two brothers-in-law: Matt Mitchell and Don Milz; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Lynn Mitchell and Joan Milz. Jerry was a member of Wiota Lutheran Church for many years. He was a huge sports fan and always cheered on the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. Jerry had a love for snacks, more specifically ice cream and potato chips. In his free time, he loved woodworking, decorating his garden, and working on his computer. He always cherished the phone calls he had with his parents and his aunt Dorothy, chatting about anything and everything. Jerry also adored his cats, Poopy and Amy. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:45 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church (6682 Highway 78, South Wayne) with Rev. Dave Olson of Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Argyle officiating. Burial will be at West Wiota Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, from 9:15 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at Wiota Lutheran Church.
