Linda Hess

Linda Marie Hess, age 63 of rural Argyle, WI passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at her home in the arms of her husband. She was born in the Bay View area of Milwaukee, WI on December 9, 1960, the middle daughter of Kenneth and Irene J. (Kormanik) Schulz. The family moved to California, the land of sunshine and movie stars in 1972. Linda enjoyed the family's outings including the memorable night under the stars - and in the snow- at Yosemite, and her foreign-exchange trip to Sweden, and then hosting a Belgian student in return. Linda graduated from Glendora High School in the class of '79 and ultimately matriculated at the University of LaVerne earning both a BS and a MBA. Linda returned to her native Wisconsin in 1994 having married Jon on June 17, 1993, at the San Fernando Mission. She quickly found a variety of jobs and landed employment with the company ultimately known as FIS, working there for 27 years as a software support consultant, the last 10 or so years from home. Linda was inspired to join the Marion Catechist Apostolate and was first consecrated as a Marian Catechist in July of 2013, and re-consecrated annually thereafter. Linda was tapped to be a sacristan at St. Mary's Platteville and went on to serve there until recently as a sacristan, contributor of the weekly catechism column for the bulletin, RCIA instructor, and CCD instructor. Her particular delight was instructing the first communicants, a role she had to leave due to her health concerns. Linda is survived by her husband Jonathan, her mother Irene, sisters Elizabeth "Lisa" Schulz and Jeanette "Jenni" (George) Keeler. She was preceded in death by her father Kenneth in April of 1982. Linda enjoyed life on the farm with her husband, her cattle and her cats; she will be grievously missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church (130 W. Cedar St, Platteville) with Fr. Faustino Ruiz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Platteville. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services at the church.
