William Schmid

William Joseph Schmid, aged 58, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. Born on May 24, 1968, in Monroe, Wisconsin, William lived most of his life in Argyle, where he was employed at GreenCo Company.

William was a man of many passions. He loved old cars and possessed an impressive knowledge of every model. Crossword puzzles, all types of music, and most especially spending time with his family, brought him great joy throughout his life. Though he never married, William cherished the bonds he shared with his brothers and sister, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his brothers Stanley L. Schmid, Mark T. Schmid, Roy L. Schmid, and Gary J. (Dawn) Schmid; his sister Karen M. (Ronald) Zeigler, and several nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leland Schmid; siblings Robert G. Schmid, John Schmid, Ralph Schmid, Leland Schmid, and Chris L. Schmid; and his beloved dog Lucky.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Yellowstone Lutheran Cemetery, 4472 Saints Road, Blanchardville, Wisconsin with Pastor Chris Strohm presiding.
