Douglas Lee “Ug” Milestone, age 65, of rural Shullsburg, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home on September 21, 2026. He was born on August 29, 1961, in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Gerald and Martha (Studier) Milestone.
Ug grew up in Shullsburg and graduated from Shullsburg High School class of 1979. He went on to work as a CNC machinist, dedicating many years to his profession.
Those who knew Ug knew that he enjoyed life and believed there was always room for a little fun. His interests included but were not limited to watching sports whether it be the Badgers (both men and women), Packers, Brewers, Nascar, Golf, Hockey, and even Soccer. Ug enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, taking out his boat, shooting pool, playing foosball, ping pong and bird watching. He loved a good time, good company, and the opportunity to share a few laughs and stories with the people around him. His warm personality and sense of humor made him someone people enjoyed being around, and he formed many cherished friendships throughout the years that meant a great deal to him. Ug was present and paid attention.
Above all, Ug loved his family. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his niece and nephews and took great pride in watching their lives unfold. Although Ug never married or had children of his own, he was surrounded by family and friends who loved him and will remember the many laughs, stories, and good times they shared with him.
