Obituary

Vicki Lynn Olson, age 64, of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on April 17, 2026, at her home. Born on August 27, 1961, in Monroe, Wisconsin, Vicki was a lifelong resident of Lafayette County. She spent her early years in Argyle before moving with her family to Blanchardville, where she would make her home for the rest of her life. Vicki graduated from Pecatonica High School with the Class of 1979 and was united in marriage to Rodney Olson on October 18, 1980, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Blanchardville.

Vicki was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether tending to her flowers and garden, settling in with a good book, or creating beautiful diamond art, she embraced the quiet moments that made life meaningful. She was a devoted fan of University of Wisconsin athletics and had a special love for all things Disney. Vicki was also known for her homemade fudge, a sweet treat that family and friends looked forward to and remembered fondly. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness.

Her caring nature extended beyond her home as she gave her time to the Blanchardville Public Library Board and the Pecatonica Christian Preschool Board, always eager to support her community and help others.

Vicki will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Rodney; her children, Aaron Olson of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, Michelle (Fritz) Mueller of Pembina, North Dakota, Michael Olson of Blanchardville, Wisconsin, and Tori (Keith Roou) Olson of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin; her beloved grandchildren, Kendyll and Isaac Olson, and Athena and Dietrich Mueller; her mother, Mary Jean Hendrickson of Blanchardville; her brothers, Timothy (Wendi) Hendrickson of Blanchardville and Kim (Loreane) Hendrickson of Argyle; brother-in-law David (Marita) Olson and; sister-in-law: JoAnn Schober.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gene LeRoy Hendrickson; her grandparents, Guy and Faye Hendrickson and Palmer and Monica Wahl; her in-laws, Vernus and Irene Olson; sister-in-laws: Janice (Marvin) Paulson and Marcia Olson and her brother-in-laws: Thomas (Sharon) Olson and David Schober, along with nieces and nephews.

Vicki was both a neighbor and a guiding figure to me. From games of ‘spoons’ in the dining room to catching up at a local baseball game with Vicki and Rodney, I treasure those memories dearly. My condolences.

As the new neighbor 'up the hill' from gene and mary when i moved to the area in 2007,, Vicki was there and curious. So sweet, so giving. Never judging. And was when we spoke last a year ago. Still curious, kind, loving. I am sad. This earth lost a beautiful soul.
