Obituary

L. John Muszynski, born February 18, 1965, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and known to most simply as John, had eight siblings: Roxanne Brown, David Muszynski, Donna Barkley, Denise Graves, Tom Carothers, Kat Wilson, Anita Otte, and Tina Tufly, and two foster brothers, Jason and Jerud Moyle. He proudly graduated from high school in 1984 and spent part of his early adulthood working on a ranch in Montana before returning to Wisconsin. In 1988, he relocated to Brodhead, where he worked at a creamery and later for Monroe Truck, taking on a variety of responsibilities throughout his employment. He also proudly worked throughout the South, managing crews that constructed steel buildings for many years.

John was a man with big ideas and an adventurous spirit. He carried a warm soul and a deep love for the land — especially his farm and his horses. Caring for his animals and being outdoors brought him peace and purpose. He felt most alive with the wind on his face, whether riding his motorcycle on the open road or spending quiet time under a wide Wisconsin sky watching his horses run. He appreciated simple joys and unique treasures, including collecting Carnival Glass and savoring a bowl of mint ice cream. Above all, he had a steadfast love for Jesus that guided him throughout his life.

Above everything else, John was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his children: Chanel Clark, Johnny Muszynski, and Keiten Muszynski, and by his three beloved grandchildren: Thane, Natalie, and Braylin, who brought him great pride and joy. He also leaves behind a large and loving extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave Muszynski, Lyle Carothers, and Kay Karlen.

John will be remembered for his warmth, his dreams, his resilience, and the way he made space for both faith and freedom in his life. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the land he tended, and the stories that will continue to be shared for years to come. His spirit lives on in wide-open skies, quiet pastures, and the hearts of his children and grandchildren — reminding us to dream boldly, love deeply, and never lose our sense of wonder.
