I and my brother got to know Mark from Tractor Pulling. Mark was a great guy to visit with and got to hear some stories when he started pulling. My memory of Mark was that him and I was walking down to the track in Darlington at the Fairgrounds and some lady spoke up and said to Mark, do you want fries with that shake. To Jake, Dick and the rest of the Ruf Family, you have our deepest sympathy of Mark. There will be not another that will be like Mark. Ed and Ted Kinney. I got to know Mark the first year I took over the Ranch House Lanes and soon became friends. One night at the bar we got to talking deer hunting and he asked me where I went. I told hime we hunted the Black River Forest. Well it seems that was pretty close to where the Ruf's "Cabin" was located. When I told him that I only hunt opening weekend and we stay in Millston and maybe we will run into him sometime up there. He suggested that we stay at their cabin since no one uses it opening weekend. I thought he was just kidding, but no he was serious. After clearing it with John and Natalie, I, Mickey, Ben and some nephews used it for about 10 years after that with many good memories. Unfortunately I moved away after selling the Ranch House and didn't see Mark much, but I did get a chance to thank him when I ran into him in Dodgeville one night. I would like to express my condolences to his family from the boys and I. Tom Schroeder
