Orvin Ben Siegenthaler, age 93, of Darlington, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

Orvin was born on February 8, 1932, in Fayette Township, Argyle, Wisconsin, on his family’s farm. He was the beloved son of John and Edith (Shellito) Siegenthaler. Orvin spent his early years on the family farm until 1939, when the family moved to a small farm on the north edge of Darlington due to his father’s illness. In 1947, they returned to the farm in Fayette Township, where Orvin grew up and graduated from Darlington High School with the Class of 1949.

Following high school, Orvin attended the University of Wisconsin for a short time before returning home to help his older brother run the family farm.

On February 20, 1955, Orvin was united in marriage to Ruth Garrison of Argyle at Argyle Lutheran Church. Together they lived on the home farm until 1962, when they purchased their own farm near Fayette. Orvin and Ruth farmed there for 25 years before moving to Darlington in 1987.

In addition to farming, Orvin earned his real estate license in 1970 and proudly worked as a real estate agent until his retirement in 2010. He was active in his community, serving on the Darlington School Board from 1963 to 1970, as well as on the Immanuel United Church of Christ (IUCC) Church Council and Benevolent Committee, where he helped in the effort to build the New Glarus Home.
