Obituary
David L. Raymond, age 83, of Belmont, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on March 16, 1943, in Darlington, Wisconsin, he was the son of Clyde and Louise (Pahnke) Raymond. Dave graduated from Darlington High School with the Class of 1961.
Dave was a kind-hearted man whose quick wit and playful sense of humor brought laughter to everyone around him. He never missed an opportunity to tell a joke, pull a harmless prank, or share a story that left others smiling. His family and friends knew that spending time with Dave meant enjoying a good laugh—sometimes at their own expense.
A lifelong sports fan, Dave faithfully cheered for the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, taking particular enjoyment in watching the Chicago Bears get beat and the Chicago Cubs get shut out. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures, whether hunting in the woods, fishing on a quiet day, or gathering around a table for a spirited game of cards or dominos.
Above all else, Dave treasured his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, proudly taking on the role of "re-programming" them whenever the opportunity arose. His love, guidance, humor, and countless memories will remain with them forever.
Dave is survived by his loving wife, Betty, at home; his children, Randy (Deb) Raymond of Darlington, David (Susan Stohlmeyer) Raymond of Lancaster, Timothy (Kimmie) Raymond of Montfort, Susan (Pat) Hilger of Fennimore, Tammy (David) Shaw of Falls Church, Virginia; and foster daughter, Bre Arling of Dubuque, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Donna Sheehan of Fitchburg, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Aaron Raymond; his brother, Carl Raymond and brother-in-law: John Sheehan.
A visitation will be held in David's honor on Friday June 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Erickson Funeral Home, 508 Main Street, Darlington. A time of remembrance will be held Friday June 19, 2026, at 11:00 AM following the visitation at the Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery on June 19, 2026, following the time of remembrance. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
The family welcomes all who knew David to the Sports Page in Belmont, WI from 1:00PM- 3:00PM for a cold drink, a snack and time to share memories.
